This guest lecture explored some of the strange extremes of contemporary automated writing and reading technologies, and the publishing subcultures they are spawning. I consider how the horizons for our literary and extra-literary cultures are shifting under the throw of their technical foreshadow. I discussed soft AI, the postdigital mediascape, print on demand and self-publishing — some art and lots of non-art.
The lecture was given to the graduate Design School at Aalto University, convened by Information Design studio tutor, Tuukka Kaila.
