In his short story 'Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius', Luis Borges tells of a mythical encyclopaedia for a mythical world where everyone believes in subjective idealism. I created a real false-start for that encyclopaedia in the form of half-title, copyright and full-title pages for Volume 23 (Negation to Nouns) based on Borges' partial description of the book.
This false-real front matter was published – oversized, unannounced and as the front matter – in the second issue of a new journal, 2HB, published by CCA Glasgow, coedited by Francis Mckee and Louise Shelley.
