The first museum exhibition to examine the then-nascent field of conceptual writing, Postscript draws together work and writings from a broad swath of international artists. While the exhibited works spanned media and generations, the show coalesced around the artistic capacity of language.
My work He (2012), a repurposed text from Samuel Beckett's novel Watt (1953), toured with the show as it moved from the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art to Power Plant in Toronto and later to the Broad Museum in Michigan.
A day of talks and a panel discussion were held at the MCA Denver in conjunction with the show. Presenting five different perspectives on the themes of writing, art, and conceptualism, the event served as a complement to the works surveyed in Postscript. A taping of my talk is retreivable here; further videos of the day's proceedings can be found on the MCA Denver Youtube channel, here.
