Index is a procedural poem: a professional Name and Subject index for the host or reference text is produced or found, then the reference locators are erased, leaving precise ghost spacing within the entries and sub-entries.
I stumbled on the idea for my first book, Reading the Remove of Literature, and have tried it out in another standalone book, a series of journals, and here in an edited collection. When published in a multi-author volume, Index goes unidentified, simply as an Index.
