This double-sided unlimited edition, with three creases and one slot join, can be folded down into a bookmark or opened into a free-standing four-panel model room. It was commisioned by the Hannah Mitchell Foundation for their first annual Festival celebrating the legacy of the socialist-feminist campaigner and writer.
The prints were distrubted inside my solo show 'Pretty Brutal Library' at & Model Gallery in Leeds. They were laid in a constantly refreshed stack on top of the printer's delivery box, which sevred as a soft-plinth and a compressed sculptural expression of the edition's material volume.
Whether the strips are folded into bookmarks or portable rooms, on the red outside face there is information about the show, and on the white interior face there is a single looped poem co-authored with Kim Rosenfield, which condenses the spirit of the show.
