This collaboartion with the UK's leading support organisation for emerging artists, New Contemporaries, was developed as part of their seventieth anniversary programme of innovative new activity.
From a shortlist generated by a prestigious group of nominators, six emerging artists from across the UK, all of who use langauge at the centre of their practice, participated in the pilot project. The programme's two phases included a workshop and mentoring strand as well as public performances at both venues for the New Contemporaries 2019 annual exhibition.
The performances took place at Leeds Art Gallery on 9 November 2019 and South London Gallery on 25 January 2020. Art writing platform Corridor8 was the programme's media partner, commissioning three articles in repsonse to the programme.
