This group show featured the practices of ten alumni artists, curators and lecturers who studied on the Foundation Diploma in Art & Design course at Leeds College of Art during 2001. Curated by Kerstin Doble and Mick Wellbourn.
It included moving-image artist Lucy Clout, performance and video artist Rehana Zaman, and multidisciplinary artists Shakeeb Abu Hamdan, Kate Morrell and Giles Bailey. I worked with a trio of my students – Tilda Bickle, Luke Dixon, Anya Stewart-Maggs – throguh our DIY-run NotForSale Press to produce an unlimited edition of posters, given away free at the exhibition.
Curator Louise Shelley in association with Cinenova the Feminist Film and Video Distributor presented a special online commission, which can be viewed here.
A short essay by Joe Hill, then director of Focal Point Gallery also accompanied this exhibition.
The show was accompanied by a free screening, 'Deep Clean', at Hyde Park Picture House, shown in association with arts organisation Pavilion with films selected by alumnus Dr Amy Charlesworth and Gill Park, director of Pavilion.
